We have hosted the application bend in order to run this application in our online workstations with Wine or directly.

Quick description about bend:

Bend is a programming language and runtime from Higher Order Company (HoC) that enables writing parallel/concurrent programs to leverage multi?core CPUs and GPUs more easily. It is designed to abstract away much of the complexity of parallel programming (locks, mutexes, atomics), allowing developers to write code in a more high-level style (similar syntax to Python). It includes a parallel runtime (HVM) to schedule and execute tasks efficiently across available cores / hardware.

• A high-level language that feels like Python to write parallel computation for CPU/GPU without deep expertise in concurrency or CUDA etc
• Automatically parallel execution of work that can be parallelized, with runtime handling threading, task scheduling etc
• HVM runtime: capable of scaling to many threads (hundreds / thousands depending on cores) to achieve near-ideal speedups on multi-core hardware
• Support for both CPU and GPU execution to leverage both types of hardware as available
• Simplified concurrency model: developer doesn’t need to manage low level concurrency primitives (locks etc) manually
